According to his cousin António Soares de Mendonça’s trial, he had presented himself before the Inquisition of Lisbon (ANTT, IL trial 7991: 11). However, his trial is currently unlocated. Raphael Vaz da Silva became the attorney of his cousin António Soares de Mendonça after his mother Francisca da Silva’s decease. Named as António Mendes Seixas, he would also be a witness of Francisca da Silva’s will in 1766 (PROB 11/919/112). This means that he would have returned to Portugal around this year.
